Naga Fireball
Almost the Lao people of Laos are closely related – so too are their beliefs in the Phagna Nark ( King of Naga ) and the mysterious Bang Fai ( Fire balls ) that appear on then last day of Buddhist lent in October from 6.00 pm to 2.00 am, every year from beneath the waters of the Mekong where located in Ban Nong Khiet, the out skirt or Vientiane Capial ( about 65 km to the South ), sometime around there, where the creek, brooks… and otherwise about 25 km far from Vientiane Capital to the North, but the fire balls are less number than the Ban Nong Khiet ones. The fire balls shoot up from beneath the flowing waters of the Mekong River, red and pink in colour, climb into their some ten to fifty meters high before disappearing withoat noise or smoke. This was hundreds of year ago and the phenomenon has occurred every year since. The King of Nagas Fire balls are natural, unexplained phenomena. There have been no extensive studies or research done which have either proved or disproved such phenomena. There have been no extensive studies or research done which have either proved or disproved such phenomena. It is a truly strange and inexplicable sight but beautiful and wonderful to see. The red and pink fire balls are believed to come from Muang Badan ( the under water city ), sent by the King of Naga to celebrate the last day of the three - month long Buddhist lent. This story has been passed down from generation after generation from father to son as witness of these natural phenomena. It is as mysterious as it spectacular and the only the place in the world where such a thing happens is in Vientiane Capital. Their supernatural appearance is unlike anything that could be man-made.
